Building a Roto Caster

So lately, I’ve been looking at a lot of do it yourself plans on making a roto caster.

A year ago I didn’t even know what a roto caster was — now I REALLY want one.

Why…? So I can cast some of my larger pieces (like one of my larger ships and a stone tower) as hollow resin pieces. This would save on material costs as well as weight.

Problem is there are dozens of designs out there – many of them look promising, many of them are cheap ($50 to $150 for parts). Problem is deciding on one and committing.

Actually, the real problem is time. Like 3D printing, it’s something I have an interest in dabbing in but I’m still at the point of just reading up, watching and taking it all in.

But eventually, I’d like make one.

If you’ve built one, (or know someone who has), I’d love to hear your thoughts/experiences.
